Faith Radio Update | December 22, 2019

Dear Friends,

Merry Christmas – I greet you all in the Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ!

We are so very grateful for your prayers and faithful partnership with Faith Radio Uganda in 2019.

God has been gracious to us this year by using Faith Radio to broadcast to millions the Good News Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Though we had challenges, such as the recent floods, we Praise God that Faith Radio was able to finish the year proclaiming joy and thanksgiving to all of its listeners.

Most encouraging was that we saw a growth in our Faith Radio audience by 15% over last year. Faith Radio continues to be the dominant Christian Radio station in Eastern Uganda.

This year we saw many lives transformed through our programming at Faith Radio. Our Prayer night session on Faith Radio was a very encouraging to many of our listeners.

Our marketing efforts this year at Faith Radio Uganda improved, but we still have much to improve on as we enter 2020. We need to break into the large commercial markets for advertising. We will use our increased listenership as our main focus in our marketing for the New Year.

Challenges of Faith Radio Uganda in 2020 will be our computers and software for programming and acquiring a standby transmitter. Please pray for special gifts.

As we celebrate the Birth of Christ at Faith Radio we request special gifts to provide a little extra for the staff and their families during Christmas.

Please pray for the children at the orphanage to be receptive to the true meaning of Christmas, the Good News of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Sharon, Kimberly (4 months) and I pray that you will enjoy a wonderful Christmas 2019 and a Joy filled 2020!

Prayer Requests

  • Children at the orphanage and radio staff for protection from malaria
  • For my parents (Patrick & Christine) home to be repaired
  • Success for increased advertising sales at Faith Radio
  • Financial support for staff salaries, equipment, repairs and maintenance
  • Provision for the year end – Christmas financial needs of the orphanage
  • Healing for my grandmother

Daniel Okabe Faith Radio Update

Daniel Okabe Faith Radio Update

Dear Friends,

want to thank you for your support and prayers for Faith Radio Uganda. It’s through your prayers and financial support that Faith Radio continues to grow and expand Gods Kingdom by reaching thousands of souls with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I would also like to humbly thank you for the prayer support for my wife Sharon and our unborn baby girl Kimberly. You encourage us by being a part of our lives and ministry here in Uganda.

We had a successful annual Conference at the Church. We say over 1000 people from our branch churches and neighboring communities attend the conference and hundreds coming to Jesus. We praise GOD!

As part of our Faith Radio Outreach Program this month we embarked on bringing Faith Radio to the slums of our town (Mbale) this past weekend. We did open ministry events to met up with youths in the community. Many are unemployed and struggling with drug addiction. It was a great time of ministry, many were receptive to the hearing about Jesus.

Although we have not struck new advertising deals this last month, we continue with our advertising sales efforts for Faith Radio. We are thankful that our valued client companies have renewed their contracts with us: MTN, Mukwano and Africell. We Praise GOD and ask you to please continue to pray for our advertising sales efforts.

Prayer Requests

  • Keeping our family and staff from suffering from malaria
  • Children at the orphanage, healing and protection from malaria
  • Success for increased advertising sales
  • Funding for staff salaries, equipment repairs and maintenance
  • Safety for Faith Radio staff as there has been a few kidnappings and armed robberies
  • Pain relief and comfort for Sharon as she is due next week and is very nervous
  • We do encourage you to visit us and witness firsthand the ministry you pray for and support.

May God continue to bless you so that you can be a blessing to others!

June 2019: Update

June 2019: Update

Faith Radio Mandate: “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.” (Mark 15:16)

Dear Friends,

I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for your prayers and support for me, my family and ministry.

I pray for you and your families – for good health, provision and grace.

We praise God for the visiting Vanguard University ministry team now serving with us in Uganda.

They have all been impacted by this trip and I trust they will bring a testimony back home to their friends and families as to how God worked through them in such a mighty way to serve so many for Christ.

They visited the orphanage to give the children school supplies, taught some classes and helped serve breakfast. The kids loved it!

They also visited the Mbale Regional Hospital through the Faith Radio monthly Outreach program. They prayed for the sick and the new born babies in the maternity ward. The team was moved to tears to see the bad conditions of patients, new born babies becoming orphans at birth. Things they don’t see in the hospitals in the United States.

It was a great time of ministry, praying for the sick and encouraging those who are suffering by bringing Jesus to the hurting.

The team also did a School Outreach; visiting local schools in Mbale to share Jesus through teaching them American Christian Songs and sharing God’s word.

The team also taught the sermon at the Mid-week church service at Impact Ministries mother church.

The team also visited one Impact’s village churches in Kachonga, located right next to a mosque.

The team also visited the Remand Home, a Juvenile Correctional Center for Juvenile inmates. They were able to bring Jesus to these kids and remind them that life does not end in the prisons, there is always hope in Jesus!

In the process of teaching and sharing by the team 31 Juvenile inmates gave their lives to Christ. Praise God!

The team also visited the slums of Mbale where they were moved by the abject poverty and hopelessness. They walking in Jesus’ foot-steps, going to the broken hearted and bringing hope to the slums through prayer and encouragement

Over the weekend the team held a Children’s Sports Camp. The children played soccer and learned different American sports, which turned out to be a great way to share Jesus through sports. They also had a volley ball match between Vanguard University and Impact School Uganda. At the end of the day there was a trophy presented for the winning boys and girls team.

On Sunday the Vanguard team led the worship service at Impact Church. They brought the sermon, lead the Sunday school for the kids and also the youth service.

The team also had a chance to be hosted on Faith Radio Uganda, where they shared on the youth talk show and prayed for the youth in Uganda.

The team also taught pastors at an Assemblies of God Pastors Conference at a nearby local village. They taught on Faith, Integrity and Trust. It was great to see these young men and women used by God to train the Pastors of the local churches and to see pastors of different denominations come together to be part of the training. The team planted a tree as a symbol of unity for the local churches in that village.

The team also found out the need for Bibles and reading glasses in the village churches. Most pastors and elders do not have Bibles, they also have eye sight problems of the elderly and need reading glasses.

The Vanguard team is now preparing to return to home to the United States and they will have a Children’s farewell party tomorrow at the orphanage. They have truly been a blessing to us!

Please pray for their safe return and that many other of our ministry partners will come and visit us also.

We encourage you to come to Uganda to serve those in need of the Loving touch of Jesus!

Prayer Requests

  • Provision for needs of the children at the orphanage
  • Pray that Sharon does not get sick during her pregnancy
  • Health & Healing for my Grandmother & Grandfather
  • Success for Faith Radio advertising marketing efforts
  • Safety of the Faith Radio staff
  • Funding for staff salaries, rent and equipment repairs and replacement

Please continue to pray for overall ministry of Impact Ministries Uganda; for provision and protection.

Thank you for allowing us to share our heart’s desire with you, our partners in the Good News ministry of Faith Radio Uganda.

Faith Radio Update

Faith Radio Update

Faith Radio Mandate: “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.”
(Mark 15:16)

Dear Friends,

I greet you in the Name and Eternal Hope of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Thank you for your prayers for Sharon and me, and our ministry in Uganda.

I have fully recovered from malaria and am back on my feet serving God. Thank you all for praying for me during that time of illness.

Thank you for praying for Sharon also. She is going very strong in her pregnancy. Please pray for a safe delivery expected this September.

We are both very thankful to God for this new chapter of life, and are looking forward to becoming parents.

The Faith Radio tower was struck again by lightning due to the heavy rains in Eastern Uganda. We were off air for only a couple of days, however (Thank God) our engineer was able to rectify the problem quickly and we are back on air, with a very clear signal on the airwaves.

We are also very thankful for the two new advertisers; Riham ( juice making company) and MTN ( Mobile network).

Please continue to pray for additional advertisers as well as increased monthly support from our ministry partners in the USA.

We had our quarterly Faith Radio Management meeting this week. The staff is positive and committed to continue serving God and we are excited about how Faith Radio is expanding its reach to many more communities around Eastern Uganda.

Please pray for the Media in Uganda, as recently many televisions and radio stations have been suspended. This is an infringement on media rights by the government is very disturbing. Please pray that the Christian Radio stations will not face this attack.

Through our Faith Radio Uganda outreach program, Sharon and I had a chance this week to show the love of Jesus to three young Muslim Somalian girls here in Mbale Uganda. Uganda has provided a safe haven for most of the Somalian refugees who have been displaced from their country due a long conflict between the Somalian government and the Alqaeda terror group.

The girls were very receptive to listening about our faith in Jesus Christ. Please pray as Sharon will continue to meet with them to teach them about our faith in Jesus.

We just came back from our Faith Radio hospital outreach outing. We visited the new mothers at Butaleja Village Health Center. We shared Jesus with the mothers, gave out goodie bags and prayed for them and their families.

We also visited our listeners in Butaleja where we donated more goodie bags and prayed for the sick. Most especially we prayed for an Albino Child. As you might know many Albino children are excommunicated from many village communities here in Uganda. Due to superstitious tribal beliefs many of these children are sacrificed.

We are very thankful to God for Faith Radio Uganda as a tool to bring Jesus to the people of Uganda and we thank you for your support.

We encourage you to visit Uganda and see firsthand the ministry you support and pray for.

We shall be hosting a team of 15 from Vanguard University this summer and look forward to a great time of serving God together.

  • Funding to Relocate the Broadcasting Studio
  • Funding for staff salaries, rent and equipment repairs and replacement

Please continue to pray for overall ministry of Impact Ministries Uganda; for provision and protection.

Thank you for allowing us to share our heart’s desire with you, our partners in the Good News ministry of Faith Radio Uganda.

A New Addition! Praise God!

A New Addition! Praise God!

Dear Friends,

Sharon and I are expecting a new addition into the family this Fall, PRAISE GOD. We didn’t know anything till now. My wife is 8 weeks pregnant. We thought she initially had Malaria which I sent out a prayer request but it was pregnancy illness.

We Praise God for keeping the new life safe because the doctor said Sharon risked taking Malaria medication which would have caused harm to the unborn child. Now we know better!

We are first timers and didn’t know what to do or expect.

We Praise God for protecting the unborn because Malaria medication can be fatal to the unborn.

The doctor says the child is alive, breathing and growing normally .

We thank God for the gift of the womb and a new chapter coming into our lives.

We know everything happens for a reason and we trust God it’s in his perfect timing.

Please pray for us as we venture into this new chapter in our lives of parenthood.

Please pray for the unborn child for good health and no complications.

Pray for Sharon as she’s going through periodic illness and discomfort that comes with the early stages of pregnancy.

Pray for God’s provision and a good medical clinic in Uganda where Sharon can do her check ups and visits leading up to birth of the child.

Right now Sharon is visiting the Government hospital in Mbale for her routinely check ups due to limited finances but it’s not very hygienic there and not well maintained.

We do not want to risk the child and mom contracting any infections from the hospital.

Please pray for us .

God bless you,

Daniel & Sharon
